The Excitement Of Christmas Getting Closer

We don't live in a country to enjoy winter. I have grown up thinking when winter is near, Christmas is already here. Well, i cant help it, I might sound abit biased as I am a catholic and I love Christmas. One would only assume that since I am christian, obviously I would love Christmas. Believe me, I am really a half past six one. Yes, I do go to church every sunday to fulfill my sunday obligations. And I am very sure heaven would tell me there is no vacant lot for me when i knock on their door when my time is up. Oh my god, what such deviation......my actuall post was on what is celebrated before Christmas. In the christian calender, we celebrate Advent before Christmas. It's 4 weeks before Christmas.

The colour in church during advent is usually purple and pink. There is an advent wreath with one candle representing each of the four Sundays of Advent. The pink candle is lit on the 3rd Sunday of Advent.

To all those who are in the midst of Advent, Have A Blessed Advent To The Birth Of Christ.

God Always Answers Prayers

This is by one of my very most favourite authors. The first book i read by him was Tough Time Never Last But Tough People Do.

God Always Answers Prayers By Robert H Schuller

When the idea is not right, God says, "No."

No-when the idea is not the best.
No-when the idea is absolutely wrong.
No-when though it may help you, it could create problems for someone else.

When the time is not right, God says, "Slow."

What a catastrophe it would be if God answered every prayer at the snap of your fingers.
Do you know what would happen?

God would become your servant, not your master.
Suddenly God would be working for you instead of you working for God.

Remember: God's delays are not God's denials. God's timing is perfect.
Patience is what we need in prayer.

When you are not right, God says, "Grow."

The selfish person has to grow in unselfishness.
The cautious person must grow in courage.
The timid person must grow in confidence.
The dominating person must grow in sensitivity.
The critical person must grow in tolerance.
The negative person must grow in positive attitudes.
The pleasure-seeking person must grow in compassion for suffering people.

When everything is all right, God says, "Go."

Then miracles happen:
A hopeless alcoholic is set free!
A drug addict finds release!
A doubter becomes as a child in his belief.
Diseased tissue responds to treatment, and healing begins.

The door to your dream suddenly swings open and there stands God saying, "Go!"

What I Know For Sure

  • I know for sure, that there is a merciful God, Creator Of All Things.
  • I know for sure, that one of the reasons we're here is to love, respect and honour each other.
  • I know for sure, that there is so much more between heaven and earth.
  • I know for sure, that everything we do in this life, was written before we were even created.
  • I know for sure, that there is no such thing as coincidence.
  • I know for sure, that everything happens for a reason.
  • I know for sure, that my life has meaning and purpose.
  • I know for sure, that somewhere out there, there is someone who will love me for me.
  • I know for sure, that this life we live, is fueled by the energy and power given to us by our Creator.
  • I know for sure, that you reap what you sow.
  • I know for sure, that there are good spirits out there who watch over us.
  • I know for sure, that the power of the word 'hate' is very much underestimated.
  • I know for sure, the grass is not greener on the other side.
  • I know for sure, that some situations does not favour us but we move on.
  • I know for sure, that to move on, you have to let go of your past.
  • I know for sure, that when you don't have anybody to lean on, your family will be holding your hands
  • I know for sure, that everybody has a story worth telling.
  • I know for sure, that what you give comes back to you
  • I know for sure, that its a small world after all.
  • I know for sure, that everybody wants to be appreciated.

The Tongue Can Be Your Worst Enemy

Your words, your dreams, and your thoughts have power to create conditions in your life.

What you speak about, you can bring about.

If you keep saying you can't stand your job, you might lose your job.

If you keep saying you can't stand your body, your body can become sick.

If you keep saying you can't stand your car, your car could be stolen or just stop operating.

If you keep saying you're broke, guess what? You'll always be broke.

If you keep saying you can't trust people, you'll always have someone in your life to hurt and betray you.

If you keep saying you can't find a job, you will remain unemployed.

If you keep saying you can't find someone to love you or believe in you, you will attract more experiences to confirmyour beliefs.

If you keep talking about a divorce or breaking up then you might just end up with it.

Turn your thoughts and conversations around to be more positive and power packed with faith, hope, love and action.

Don't be afraid to believe that you can have what you want and deserve.

Watch your thoughts, they become words.

Watch your words, they become actions.

Watch your actions, they become habits.

Watch your Habits, they become character.

Watch your Character, it becomes your Destiny.

The minute you settle for less than you deserve, you get even less than you settle for.

Thought I would share this with you."In the search for me, I discovered truth.

In the search for truth, I discovered love.

In the search for love, I discovered GOD.

And in God, I have found Everything.

Be Blessed & Bless Others

Watch how your circumstances and situations begin to change when you change the way you speak.

"Life is like melted butter. . .once things cool down, it can be reshaped!"

Sipping Vodka

My all time fav forwarded joke. Cracks me up every time i read it. Jus love it.

A new priest at his first mass was so nervous he could hardly speak.

After mass he asked the monsignor how he had done.

The monsignor replied, 'When I am worried about getting nervous on the pulpit, I put a glass of vodka next to the water glass. If I start to get nervous, I take a sip.'

So next Sunday he took the monsignor's advice.

At the beginning of the sermon, he got nervous and took a drink.

He proceeded to talk up a storm.

Upon his return to his office after the mass, he found the following note on the door:

1) Sip the vodka, don't gulp.

2) There are 10 commandments, not 12.

3) There are 12 disciples, not 10.

4) Jesus was consecrated, not constipated.

5) Jacob wagered his donkey, he did not bet his ass.

6) We do not refer to Jesus Christ as the late J.C.

7) The Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are not referred to as Daddy, Junior and the spook.

8) David slew Goliath; he did not kick the shit out of him.

9) When David was hit by a rock and was knocked off his donkey, don't say he was stoned off his ass.

10)We do not refer to the cross as the 'Big T.'

11)When Jesus broke the bread at the last supper he said, 'Take this and eat it for it is my body.' He did not say 'Eat me'.

12)The Virgin Mary is not called 'Mary with the Cherry'.

13)The recommended grace before a meal is not: Rub-A-Dub-Dub thanks for the grub, Yeah God.

14)Next Sunday there will be a taffy pulling contest at St. Peter's not a peter pulling contest at St. Taffy's..

Celebration of Life

I got the below as a forwarded mail today. It was really nice. Maybe its time we started acknowledging life and the good things around us.
Have a good read.......
I woke early today........
Excited about all that i get to do before midnight........

I have resposibilities to fullfill that are important. My job is to choose what kind of day i will have.....
Today I can complain because its raining..... Or I can be thankful the grass is getting watered for free!

Today i can feel sad that i dont have more money..... Or I can be glad that my finances encourage me to plan my purchases wisely and guide me away from waste!
Today I can grumble about my health...... Or rejoice that I am alive!

Today I can lament over all that my parents didnt give me When i was growing up...... Or I can be grateful that they allowed me to be born!
Today I can cry because roses have thorns..... Or I can celebrate that thorns have roses!

Today I can mourn my lack of friends..... Or I can excitely embark upon a quest to discover new relationships!
Today I can whine because I have to go to work...... Or I can shout for joy because I have a job to do!

Today I can complain I have to go to school...... Or I can eagerly open my mind and fill it with rich new knowledge!
Today stretches ahead of me, waiting to be shaped..... I am the sculptor, ready to do the shaping....

What today is like is up to me because I get to choose what kind of day I will have......... Celebrate Life....... Life is good...... Keep that smile.
