Life Is A Gift

This is an extract from The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch.

Alittle bit about this guy. He was a computer science professor in Carnegie Mellon University. He died of pancreatic cancer. The Last Lecture was written for his 3 children he left behind. A little reminder to his li'l ones to notice the goodness all around in their growing years.

A little reminder to us as well......

This is the essence of his message.:
  • Never give up - brick walls is there to give us a chance to demonstrate how badly we want something while stoppong those who do not want it badly enough. So instead of complaining, work harder.

  • No one is pure evil. If you wait long enough, they will show their good side. Find the best in everyone.

  • When you continually keep doing wrong things and no one bothers to say anything anymore, they have given up on you. Your critics care for you; if they don't, you are doomed.

  • Tell the truth but tell it in a tactful manner.

  • When you have done something wrong that you regret, you need to do three things:
  1. Appologize

  2. Say that it is your fault

  3. Say what you can do to make things better (which is the most difficult and rarely said)
  • Have fun in whatever you do
